This Friday Night, Terry Virts Photos From Outer Space. Wine from Planet Earth.

Terry Virts is a lauded U.S. Air Force test/fighter pilot and NASA Astronaut who piloted the Space Shuttle Endeavor, and commanded the International Space Station for 200 days from 2014-2015. While in space, Terry participated in 3 spacewalks, performed scientific experiments with international partners, including the Cosmonauts from the Russian Space Agency.

Terry is also a professional photographer. During his time in space, Terry took over 319,000 photographs — featured in the IMAX film A Beautiful Planet, which Terry appears in and assisted in filming.

National Geographic has recently released a book about Terry’s work titled, View From Above, which includes both his space photography as well as anecdotes from his time in space.

Listen to KCUR this Friday at 11 AM to hear Terry on the show and then stop by this Friday at 6 PM to meet Terry. Both the books and his photos will be available for purchase. Please join us. Great art. Great wine.

Our show is in cooperation of Rainy Day Books, one of the country’s Flagship Independent Bookstores.

As always, don’t forget to #liveinspired.
