MJ Rigby was born in Toronto, Canada in 1965 to parents with an affinity for art in all forms.  As a young boy he spent long hours creating forms by building, destroying and drawing. MJ was fortunate enough to be mentored by Gallerist Peter Merwin while studying in France.  This was a prolific period for Rigby and he took advantage of his location to experience every piece of work he could. MJ received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Houston while concurrently experimenting with watercolor, ceramic and metal sculpture and furniture design at the College of Fine Arts.  He further honed his skills at the University of Colorado where he received his Master of Architecture.  He currently resides and works in Kansas City, Missouri.
